Genie Leslie writes rom-coms with a twist. That is, screenplays and pilots that play with the romantic comedy genre, whether that’s with stories about queer discovery or late bloomers, or with the genre itself, finding something unexpected within the well-worn structure of these stories.  A current TV & Screenwriting MFA candidate at Stephens College (graduating May 2026), she’s also a Stowe Story Labs alum, Austin Film Festival Second Rounder, and a Roadmap Writers GPS Fellowship Finalist. She lives in Atlanta with her husband.
