Accomplished novelist Laura Hankin ("One-Star Romance," "The Daydreams," "A Special Place for Women") wrote the screenplay inspired by her personal experience of being cast as the lead in her high school's musical while dealing with her mother's terminal illness. What it was like writing from her own personal experience and how it helped her process these events
The process of bringing her idea from concept to script, and what her writing schedule was like
How the script got in front of the right people to get produced and seen
