We proudly accept projects and programs that resonate with our values, enabling them to receive tax-deductible donations. When you donate on this page, your contribution will directly support the fiscally sponsored project of your choosing, helping to drive meaningful change in the industry.

Who is this for?
This program is for independent filmmakers whose work authentically centers women and gender-expansive people — on screen and behind the camera.
Requirements:
✅ Active Moonshot annual membership
✅ Project budget of $20,000 or more
✅ Project centers women and/or gender-expansive voices
✅ Applicant is the primary creative lead
✅ A fundraising plan that does not exceed 9 months
What to know before you apply
Fiscal sponsorship is a partnership — and we want it to be a clear one. Here's what to expect:
Administrative Fee: Moonshot retains 7% of all donations made through the fiscal sponsorship program (this is after any credit card or service fees). This fee supports the infrastructure that makes tax-deductible giving possible.
Program Term: Fiscal sponsorship agreements run for up to 9 months from the date of approval. Fundraising must be completed within this window.
Fund Disbursement: Funds are disbursed to you within 7 business days once your account balance reaches $500 or more, minus the 7% administrative fee. Funds will not be released until this minimum threshold is met. A Google spreadsheet will be shared with you to track your account in real time.
Credit Requirement: All fiscally sponsored projects must include the following in their end credits:"[Project Title] was fiscally sponsored by Moonshot Initiative"along with the Moonshot logo at an agreed-upon size and placement.
Your Rights: Filmmakers retain full creative and intellectual property rights to their project. Moonshot's role is administrative — your film is yours.
Your Responsibility: Moonshot provides the fiscal sponsorship infrastructure, but fundraising is the filmmaker's responsibility. We encourage you to come with a plan.
If Your Project Doesn't Move Forward: If a fiscally sponsored project is abandoned or delayed more than two years, all undisbursed funds must be returned to Moonshot Initiative within 30 days. Disbursed funds must be accounted for with documentation of production-related expenses. Moonshot reserves the right to redirect unspent funds to other programming.
