The writers who are selected as semi-finalists for the Moonshot Feature Accelerator have their feature scripts read by at least two industry judges.


Here are the impressive bios of our judges!


Anna Chi joined WGA in 2001 for writing a feature film script for Miramax Pictures. Ever since then Ms. Chi has been working as a director and a writer of award-winning feature films and short films. Her writing credits include scripts for John Woo’s Lionrock Entertainment; “Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon” producer Xu LiGong’s Zoomhunt Entertainment in Taiwan; Tomson Company and Full Circle Productions in Hong Kong, Roset Entertainment and Huashi Media in China. She has also developed an animated feature script for DreamWorks; a theme park project for Disney World. Currently Ms.Chi is writing a Christmas script for Hallmark.


Angela Shelton is an accomplished writer, filmmaker, and actress, celebrated for her powerful storytelling that often explores themes of trauma, healing, and empowerment. She co-wrote Tumbleweeds, for which actress Janet McTeer won a Golden Globe and earned an Oscar nomination. She wrote, directed, and produced the heartwarming golf comedy Eagle and the Albatross starring Wonder Years' Dan Lauria and KPOP Legend Amber Liu. Her film The Hammer (aka Heart Baby) tells the true story of a prison boxer that she wrote, directed, and produced. Her adaptation of Kaye Gibbons’ novel Charms for the Easy Life for Showtime starred Gena Rowlands and her multi-award-winning documentary Searching for Angela Shelton continues to inspire audiences with stories of survival and personal triumph. Angela Shelton is a force of nature and has a sci-fi thriller in the works as well as a traveling Sacred Circus.


Marianne Wunch has produced over 240 hours of television, mostly feature length, as creative executive, production executive, and crew. Most recently, she finished co-writing her first feature-length screenplay adapted from a popular novel. Her broad experience includes short films, commercials, web series, multi-cam shows, live theatre, musical concerts, and special events. Passionate about complex characters and rich storytelling, Marianne strives to create entertaining shows for multi-generational audiences that builds connection with viewers.


Krystin Ver Linden’s love for film has always steered the course of her career and her life and it shows through her work. She learned the art of filmmaking  through a decade-long mentorship with Quentin Tarantino. In her directorial debut, ALICE - starring

 Keke Palmer and Common, she hones in on her knowledge of film to balance two genres in this one of a kind thriller/drama. ALICE made its worldwide premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, and was released nationwide via Vertical Entertainment and Roadside

 Attractions. Krystin was also chosen as one of Variety’s 2022 coveted ‘10 Directors to Watch’. She went on to be nominated for two NAACP Awards for her work. ALICE went on to win Best Foreign Film at the Rome Film Festival in 2022.  She is currently working

 on her next original film based on the popular, best selling book, ICEBERG SLIM with Winston Duke attached in the starring role with Jamie Foxx's production company Foxxhole producing. 


April Wolfe is a screenwriter, podcast host, and former film critic. A Michigander in Los Angeles, she focuses on genre film and television, with an emphasis on thrillers, science fiction, action, crime, and horror (with comic flourishes). April is the creator and host of the wildly popular podcast “Switchblade Sisters”. She produced the 2015 indie feature MOLLY TAKES A TRIP. In 2019, she co-wrote the feminist slasher BLACK CHRISTMAS from Blumhouse/Universal.


Sandra Avila is a 24 yr. veteran in the entertainment industry, Avila has an established track record as an executive, producer and literary manager. For the past six years, she has been a partner and literary manager at Inclusion; a management company focused on elevating diverse storytellers. Some of her clients include: David Blue Garcia (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Tejano), Julio Quintana (Blue Miracle, The Long Game), Marcella Ochoa (Madres) and Saray Guidetti (NBC’s The Blacklist).


Elaine del Valle is a native New York, Puerto Rican Director and multi-hyphenate Storyteller. Her awards include the HBO Latinx Director award, the LALIFF | LFI | Amazon-MGM works-in-progress independent feature film post-production grant and from festivals including SXSW, Urbanworld, Catalyst Stories, Seriesfest and more. Elaine’s feature film directorial debut is a genre dance-drama-thriller Tubi original, Midnight Hustle (now streaming.) Her second narrative feature, Brownsville Bred, which she wrote, produced and directed, is currently in post-production. 


Meredith Dawson got her break as a writer on two Mindy Kaling series, Champions and Four Weddings and a Funeral. She most recently was a Co-EP on Everybody Still Hates Chris, the reimagined animated version of the Chris Rock live action series for Comedy Central. On the feature side, Dawson is attached to direct her romantic comedy, When Carrie Met Michael and Other People with Paul Feig and Feigo producing. She is currently adapting Stacey Abrams novel "Rules of Engagement" with Stacey and Kerry Washington producing for Universal.
