Katrina Medoff and Tracy Sayre

Members of the Moonshot community sent in their gratitude and filled the comments of her announcement on Instagram with love. Here are just a few of the kind words they had to say about her:

“Best wishes for the next chapter, Tracy! What you and Katrina created with the initial Women's Weekend Film Challenge was the first of its kind for women and non-binary filmmakers, cast, and crew to network, collaborate, and build lifelong connections with each other. I should know since the short I directed, ‘Greater Good,’ was part of your historic launch weekend! Thank you so much for all your hard work and commitment to building our oft-neglected community!”  -Andrea Ashton

“What you and [Katrina Medoff] built has not only helped so many people, but it’s also been so inspiring to watch you create and grow something so successful together!! Good luck with the next chapter!! ” -Dana Kyle Kroplick

“Thank you for the opportunities you've created for so many people throughout the years. Best wishes on this new journey in your career! You're so appreciated and your community is lucky to have you.” -Giannina Fredo

“We will miss you and your leadership! Thank you for your incredible contributions to Moonshot, which have made a lasting impact on so many women artists and creatives. Wishing you all the best in your next chapter—I know it will be dynamite!” -Rashmi Singh

“Thank you for making it everything it has become! Wishing you all the best!” -Allison Hayhurst

“Working with you and Katrina at WWFC/Moonshot was one of my best career decisions and I'm thankful for the friendships we built. I will always champion you and am excited for your next chapter! Here's to equality for female filmmakers💖 Sending you lots of love.” -Krystal D.

“My Women’s Weekend Film Challenge time was really inspiring and gave me a creative boost when I needed it most and could least afford it — you guys made magic happen on that shoestring. An at-the-time new friend was on another team, and we bonded more over the experience, too and the relationships I gained opened doors for me. So fun to be back in the fold with Moonshot and the new iteration that you and Katrina created. Tracy — sorry to hear you’re moving on but wishing you godspeed in your next adventures.” -Valerie Peterson

“Wow! The two of you and Moonshot were a beacon of light during the pandemic and beyond! I loved your partnership and solidarity. The openness and collaborative spirit of the organization. And your mission. A very long time ago, at the very dawn of the internet—as in everyone did not even have an email address and we were sending newsletters via the USPS — I founded CineWomenNY (an offshoot of Cinewomen in Los Angeles). The two of you bring the same energy and enthusiasm of our first members and co-founders and Board members. I am grateful to both of you for bringing that energy back into my life! I am sure Moonshot is around for the long haul. Your partnership energy will be missed. Tracy, you will be missed! Katrina, you totally got this! So grateful to both of you!”  -E. Amato

“Thank you Tracy, for being such an incredible champion of women and our stories! What you have built and fostered for us all is truly life changing, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and grow from you and Moonshot. Wishing you all the best, sending love & gratitude.” -Katerina Munis

“Thank you so much for building this program!” -Nicole Fancher

“Best wishes, Tracy!! Thinking of you both and always following what comes next.” -Sara Stampone

“Since joining ShotDeck back in 2024, I've really admired the fantastic work you've done in support of the global film community. I wish you all the best on your future endeavors, Tracy, and look forward to cheering Moonshot Initiative on under Katrina's leadership.” -Cassandra Nicholson

“The NYWIFT family sends their love to Tracy and Katrina! We are so excited for what the next chapter holds for everyone.” -Catherine Woo

Best of luck Tracy!! Thank you so much for your part in creating this amazing community. I've met so many incredible women because of the WWFC and the virtual mixers, people I wouldn't have met if it wasn't for your labor of love. I'm excited to see where life takes you next, I hope we're able to stay connected. -Gracie Giffune

And her fellow co-founder Katrina Medoff sent this sweet send-off on Instagram:

“It’s been the biggest honor to build Moonshot with my best friend over the last nine years! [Tracy] has been the best co-founder I could have ever asked for. From starting Moonshot on Tracy’s couch to hosting our film challenges on two coasts to almost daily Zooms, I can’t imagine having gone through this journey without her. As she moves to focus her work in her Kingston home base, I’m so excited to see where her career takes her 💕”

I like that Basketball Bros gives me plenty of ways to enjoy a session without needing to chase a perfect record. Some days I want to unlock something new, while other days I just want a few entertaining matches.
